Eligible students who successfully claim the offer will receive access to Google AI Plus for 12 months at no cost.

400 GB of storage: Students get 400 GB of storage across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos.

Expanded Gemini access: The plan provides increased access to Google’s Gemini AI tools for research, reasoning, coding and creative work.

Deep Research: Students can use Gemini’s research capabilities to explore topics and generate more detailed research materials.

Gemini Notebook: The AI-powered notebook can help students work with study materials and create resources such as flashcards, quizzes, infographics and other learning content.

Who can apply?

• Be currently enrolled at an eligible higher education institution.
• Successfully verify their student status through SheerID, Google’s student verification partner.
• Have a personal Google Account.
• Have a Google Payments account with a qualifying payment method.

What you need before applying

Students should have proof that they are currently enrolled in their institution.

Accepted or suggested documents may include:

• A valid student ID card showing an expiry date.
• A current class schedule or timetable.
• A tuition or school-fee receipt.
• Another official school document showing current enrollment.

The document should clearly show the student’s name and institution and contain information that demonstrates that the student is currently enrolled.

How to apply for Google AI Plus free for 12 months

Step 1: Visit the Google student offer page

Go to Google’s official Google One student offer page and select the Google AI Plus student offer.

Step 2: Sign in to your Google Account

Sign in with the personal Google Account you want to use for the Google AI Plus membership.

Step 3: Begin student verification

Google will direct you to SheerID to verify that you are currently enrolled in a higher education institution.

You may be asked to provide details about your school and your student status.

Step 4: Submit proof of enrolment

If your student status cannot be verified automatically, you may be asked to upload a document proving that you are currently enrolled.

Make sure the document is clear, readable and contains the information required for verification.

Step 5: Complete the payment setup

Although the promotional period is free, Google requires eligible users to have a Google Payments account with a qualifying payment method when signing up.

Step 6: Complete the subscription
