The Data Immersed (TDI), a data-focused community and consultancy, will host the second edition of its TDI Tech Summit on July 25, 2026, bringing together technology professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs and cultural thought leaders to examine how Africa’s heritage can shape the continent’s digital future.
When and Where
The summit, themed ‘Africa Digital Ancestry: Rooted in Culture, Powered by Tech,’ will take place at the Lagos Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, and is expected to attract more than 1,000 participants from across the technology ecosystem.
Organisers say the event will explore the intersection of data, artificial intelligence, innovation and African cultural heritage, creating a platform for discussions on how traditional knowledge systems can inform the development and deployment of emerging technologies.
What the Summit Will Explore
The summit comes at a time when conversations around artificial intelligence, digital identity and responsible innovation are gaining momentum globally. While much of the AI ecosystem has been shaped by Western and Asian perspectives, African technology leaders are increasingly advocating for locally relevant solutions that reflect the continent’s languages, histories, values and cultural realities.

According to TDI, the event will feature more than 20 speakers, 10 hands-on workshops, keynote sessions and networking opportunities designed to connect aspiring and experienced professionals across the data and technology sectors.
The programme will focus on three key pillars: Data & Analytics, Innovation & AI, and Culture & Heritage. Discussions are expected to examine how emerging technologies can preserve cultural knowledge, improve decision-making, create economic opportunities and support Africa’s broader digital transformation agenda.
“Where ancient wisdom meets artificial intelligence, and data meets design,” organisers said in a statement describing the vision behind the summit. “Explore the intersection of technology and traditional culture, where the past informs the future and innovation meets heritage.”
The event will also provide a platform for participants to engage with industry experts, explore practical applications of data and AI, and discuss the role of technology in shaping Africa’s future while preserving its cultural identity.
