Applications are now open for Hackaholics 7.0 — Wema Bank’s Innovation Hackathon_ a premier open innovation programme designed to support startups, innovators, creatives, problem-solvers, and technology enthusiasts across Africa.

The programme provides funding, mentorship, strategic partnerships, and market access to help founders and innovators scale their ventures from the idea stage to real-world impact.

Powered by Wema Bank, the initiative targets builders and change-makers solving real market and community problems across emerging technology sectors.

Selected participants will receive structured support aimed at strengthening their solutions and preparing them for growth and funding opportunities.

 

What participants will gain from Wema Bank Hackaholics 7.0 

 

Participants will receive guidance from industry leaders to develop scalable ideas, explore problems, and accelerate their ventures.

Funding Opportunities: The programme will provide direct access to substantial funding pools designed to help founders launch and scale their solutions.

Visibility & Partnerships: Founders will gain curated access to a vast community, strategic partners, and market access pathways within the African startup ecosystem.

Mentorships: Post-programme momentum through the Accelerator and continued mentorship

 

Programme Tracks 

Applicants can choose from three distinct but interconnected tracks tailored to their current stage:

Startup Pitch Competition: For early-stage ventures with a live product or prototype looking to showcase solutions, attract partnerships, and access growth opportunities.

Hackathon: A timed build challenge for developers, designers, engineers, and builders ready to design and deploy functional, technology-driven solutions at speed.

Social Impact Track: Focused on changemakers and organizations building solutions that address pressing social, environmental, and community challenges.

 

Who Can Apply for Wema Bank Hackaholics 7.0?

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • The programme is open to everyone, including young entrepreneurs, professionals, and students across Africa.
  • You do not need to be a programmer or hold a Computer Science degree to apply.
  • Applicants must be building or planning to build a solution that solves a real-world problem within the listed challenge areas.

Grand Finale & Pitch Sessions 

During the Pitch Sessions and the Grand Finale, selected founders and builders will present their solutions to a curated audience of ecosystem stakeholders.
